Mandalorian action star heads for a Close Encounter in the Wilderness
Sometimes the woman you don’t notice is the most dangerous of all.
Gina Carano is soon to be seen in Dazzler’s release of ” Daughter of the Wolf” . This superbly crafted, female-led, action vehicle is perfect for Gina to show her physical talents. Strong female characters are in vogue and she epitomises their qualities.
The film has no clear cut heroes and villains, so you’re not sure who is who, and that gives the film an intensity developed by character driven rage and redemption. Unusually and remarkably this movie does not play to a feministic gender swap, instead it plays more to the facets of a forceful, fully-formed woman, and this is done with imagery that’s both stunning and subtle. Gina has a formable tactical opponent in the form of Academy award winning actor Richard Dreyfuss who is known for starring in the fantastic Stephen Spielberg movies Jaws and Close Encounter of the Third Kind.
Carano is a former MMA star who made the transition from Octagon to the screen and made her first appearance in a lead role in the action film Haywire. She has gone on perform in Fast and Furious 6 (2013), and Deadpool(2016). More recently she has won the hearts of Star Wars fans portraying Cara Dune in the very popular Mandalorian (2019 to 2020) series. This action-packed kidnap rollercoaster will leave you out of breath with the physical action and cold in fear of the conclusion.
Synopsis:
Clair Hamilton, an ex-military specialist, comes home when her father passes away. But after getting news that she has inherited a large sum of money, her son is kidnapped. Instead of seeking help, she captures one of the kidnappers, using him to track down her son.
Starring Gina Carano (The Mandalorian, Fast & Furious 6, Haywire), Brendan Fehr (The Night Shift, Final Destination) and Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss (RED, Jaws), Daughter of the Wolf is a powerful, action-packed thriller not to be missed.
