This is a a Brandon Lee Crow style movie of vengeance, action and redemption directed by Pearry Reginald Teo of Fast Vengeance and other outstanding horror/action movies. From producer Prachya Pinkaew, the filmmaker behind modern martial arts classics, Ong Bak, Warrior King and Chocolate, comes a new hero from a world of supernatural horror…
Starring the ‘insider’s secret’ stunt man of Grammy award winning film Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Marvel universe movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Mr D.Y. Sao shows he knows how to perform Martial Arts to the camera.
The premise of the movie is that our hero is left for dead defending his tenement building from a group of vicious and mysterious criminal cultists, and then is mysteriously reborn in a deal with Hanuman the Death God. He now possesses animal like superpowers and makes it his mission to restore justice and right the wrongs of his city and stop the four horsemen of the apocalypse taking children for ritual sacrifice to bring about the end time. The residents of this block then clubbed together to hire a Night watchman to protect the kids. While our hero seeks justice.
This movie has Horror, Post-apocalyptic sci-fi, Redemption and fantastic Martial Arts. It is also a dark and deeply atmospheric film, in a supernatural film noir style. Anybody that watches this film will immediately notice the fighting style similar to the great Tony Jaa.
The movie is like they took the Mortal Kombat characters and made them real and then got them to genuinely fight, not just play stunt fighting, but look like they are really going for it. Mr D.Y. Sao does a great job, a terrific all action 8/10 for fight choreography.
