It opens in the rolling autumn vineyards of Sicily. A slow descending shot drops to enter the winery courtyard with an older man as he gets out of his Land Rover amidst a scene of very dead men with guns. Entering the bowels of the cellars he encounters brutally killed bodyguard after bodyguard. Denzel Washington, the hero McCall, is held at gunpoint on a chair. A bit of conversation, a warning from McCall and all the henchmen and the older mafioso die. So starts The Equalizer 3. The righteous retribution is back with vengeance.
Denzel Washington/ Robert McCall, an ex-assassin with a mysterious past, returns to action to serve vengeance for the exploited and oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia. He enlists the help of CIA agent Emma Collins (Dakota Fanning) to tie up the loose ends after he has terminated the gang.
