The Warrior: “America is not a place to live a Long Life”
Justin Lin (Director of Fast and Furious) has always admired Bruce Lee for his trailblazing efforts opening doors for Asians in entertainment and beyond. He was intrigued when Danielle Woodrow executive producer for Perfect Storm Entertainment, told him about a never-produced idea by Bruce for a TV show called “The Warrior” and was asked if he would like to bring it to life.
Then when Shannon Lee shared with him her father’s writings: which was rich with Lee’s unique philosophies on life, and from a point of view rarely depicted on screen, Justin and Danielle knew that Perfect Storm had to make The Warrior.
Now in 2019 Cinemax delivers the two teaser trailers for its upcoming martial arts drama, Warrior, from director Justin Lin and Banshee co-creator Jonathan Tropper. The TV series tells the story of a Chinese immigrant who makes his way from his homeland to San Francisco in the latter half of the 19th century, only to find himself using his skills for nefarious purposes.
